Debt Education and Certification Foundation (DECAF) provides pre-bankruptcy and post-bankruptcy counseling with several benefits for convenience. Our system is designed to aid you in meeting these requirements in a timely, user-friendly environment with exceptional customer service.

Course 1: Credit Counseling (Before Filing Bankruptcy)

Before you can file a bankruptcy case, you must receive a credit counseling session from an approved agency. We are an approved agency*. We provide quality unbiased counseling assistance.

After you file a bankruptcy case, and before your debts can be discharged, you must receive financial education from an approved agency. We are an approved agency*.

Fee Schedule

Credit Counseling (Pre-filing course): $50 (for individual or joint course)
Debtor Education (After filing course): $50 (for individual or joint course)

Fee waiver is available in cases where the debtor has income less than 150 percent of the poverty guidelines last published by the United States Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) (http://aspe.hhs.gov/poverty/15poverty.cfm/a>). Review these guidelines to see if you qualify, or contact DECAF for assistance. To download the 'Fee Waiver Request Form', click here, send a written request, along with evidence of income, to: DECAF, 112 Goliad Street, Benbrook, TX 76126.
